ESP8266 Notebook

A collection of topics about using NodeMcu development boards and Lua.

Notes on this notebook:

  • Unlike my other gitbook Red Language Notebook, which is a general overview of the Red programming language, this notebook is written with a much narrower scope in mind: to learn how to make NodeMcu dev boards perform certain specific tasks using Lua. So, unless you have the same objectives, you may find it less than complete. Take a look at the Table of Contents and browse the notebook to see if it fits your needs.

  • I use Windows, so most of my notes will be based on this Operating System.

  • I'm not an experienced programmer and English is not my native language.

  • I have some background on embedded systems, so this is not a beginners guide. I assume if you ever programmed an Arduino for things more sophisticated than "blink", you will be able to follow my notes.
